I actually found two articles regarding the topic of the Illinois governor, Bruce Rauner, drinking chocolate milk to symbolize a toast to diversity. This seems a bit unusual without knowing his reasoning behind the act. At a Black History Month event, Rauner and Hyatt Hotels' VP of global diversity united on stage for a presentation on diversity in the workplace. Stoudemire, the hotels' VP of global diversity, conducted a quick presentation to describe his view on workplace diversity. He poured a glass of regular milk to represent the white men at the top of most corporations in the United States. Next, he added chocolate milk and the audience watched as it drifted to the bottom, to symbolize the blacks of organizations, typically residing in lower jobs. Stoudemire said the only way we get diversity is if we stir it up. After stirring up the glass and taking a sip, Rauner said it tasted really good, meaning diversity is a good thing. This was a presentation to promote workplace diversity, which is still a very relevant issue in today's society.
